Comet is a wooden roller coaster located at Waldameer Park in Erie, Pennsylvania, manufactured by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. This wooden coaster opened up at the park in 1951 and has been in operation ever since!

Comet will bring you up a chain lift hill to a height of 37 feet with a 25 foot drop at a top speed of 25 MPH! This coaster is an ACE Classic at Waldameer and is obviously geared towards children as it isn't very high or fast.

The ride review

If you have been on junior roller coasters such as Woodstock Express from Kings Dominion and Canada's Wonderland, this is a very similar ride experience. Because of it's age, you would expect it to be a rough ride experience, however it isn't bad at all due to the fact that it doesn't move at a high speed.

Comet has a total of two trains, both of which can handle up to 16 riders a piece with 8 rows of 2. Even though this ride has two trains, the park does not feel comfortable in using both of them with the skid brakes, so you will only see one train on the track at a time.
